"Namazgah" Mosque

This mosque was built between 1375 and 1400 by ascetic Mehmed Efendi, one of the servants of his Majesty Emir Sultan. As he worked as a butcher, he is also known as “Et Dede”, or “Meat Senior Dervish”. After his death in 1429, he was buried in the graveyard at the mosque’s east. “Sufi Mehmet Mosque” is also called “Yeni (New) Namazgah Mosque”.

Sticking to the old plan, a new mosque was built in 1969 instead of the mosque built by ascetic Mehmed Efendi, and which went rack and ruin in the course of time. This new mosque was extensively renovated in 1977.
