Description
Namazgah Mosque
It was built between 1375-1400 by Sofu Mehmed Efendi, who was one of the servants of Emir Sultan and also known as "Meat Dede" because he was a butcher. He died in 1429 and was buried in the burial area to the east of the mosque. It is also known as “Sûfî Mehmet Mosque” or “Namazgâh New Mosque”.
The mosque has a rectangular plan scheme, including the main place of worship and the last congregation area.
In place of the mosque built by Sufî Mehmed Efendi, which was destroyed over time, a new mosque was built in 1969, adhering to the old plan, and this mosque underwent a major repair in 1977.
