Description
Three Lambs (Three Trumps) Tomb
It is thought that the tomb was named "Three Lambs" because there are graves of three brothers named Safiyyüddin Efendi, Açıkbaş Mehmed Efendi and Ali Efendi, who lived in the 15th century and came to Bursa from Bukhara, opposite the Three Lambs Mosque. It is also said that the reason why the tomb is called "Üçkozlar" is because it is located between three walnut trees.
It is known that there is a lodge also known as "Three Kozlar" and "Mehmed Safiyyüddin Zawiye" in the area where the Üç Kuzular Mosque is located. In the inscription of the tomb, it is stated that this lodge and the Three Lambs Tomb were rebuilt by Mustafa Pasha, who was the Chief Treasurer of Bursa Governor Nurullah Mehmed Pasha, in 1235 H. (1819).
Inside the tomb are Sheikh Muhyiddin-i Bursevî Efendi (death 1680), the first sheikh of the dervish lodge, and his children Ömer Efendi, Abdi Efendi (deceased 1724), Mustafa Efendi (deceased 1751), Abdurrahman Efendi (deceased 1796), İbrahim Efendi (deceased 1799), and Sheikh Muhyiddin's wife Hürmüz, who served as sheikhs in the dervish lodge after him. There are seven sarcophagi belonging to Hatun (she died in 1681).
In the graveyard located on the embankment under the tomb, the sheikhs of Üçkuzular Dervish Lodge who passed away in Bursa and some family members are buried. Apart from those buried in the tomb, there are tombstones belonging to 10 sheikhs and family members of up to 12 sheikhs in the cemetery of the dervish lodge. The number of all tombstones in the graveyard is 36, the oldest of which is dated H.980 (1572).
