    Description

    Çoban Bey Tomb
The tomb belongs to Çoban Bey, the son of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire. It is known that the Tomb of Çoban Bey, one of the veterans who participated in the conquest of Bursa, was built in the early 14th century. During the Ottoman period, Çoban Bey, who owned Setbaşı, Molla Arap, Yeşil and the places on the east side of Gökdere up to the Irgandı Bridge, had his own tomb built in the district now named after him, where Balabancık Fortress is located, and dedicated the surrounding areas to it. Later, his sons built a masjid in front of the tomb in the name of Çoban Bey and a madrasa in later periods, but these structures were destroyed after the 1855 earthquake. The tomb has been repaired and survived to the present day. The square planned tomb is covered with a low dome.

There are 5 more graves in the tomb apart from Çoban Bey's grave.

The building was repaired by the Antiquities Lovers Institution in 1971, and finally by Yıldırım Municipality in 1997.
