Description
Hatice Sultan Tomb
The tomb was built by Hamza Bey's grandson, wife of vizier Kara Mustafa Pasha, II. It was built by his son, Mehmed Bey, the Subaşı of Bursa, for Bayezid's daughter, Hatice Sultan. When her husband, Kara Mustafa Pasha, was killed, Hatice Sultan, resentful of her father, retreated to Bursa and did not meet anyone. According to a rumor, after a while, wounds appeared on his body; These wounds, which could not be healed, were healed by the water that came out right where the tomb was. Thereupon, after Hatice Sultan's death, her son Mehmed Bey had his tomb built here. The square planned tomb is covered with a dome. There is a portico in the north.
There are other sarcophagi other than Hatice Sultan's sarcophagus in the tomb, but it is not known to whom they belong.
