Description
Tomb of the Courtiers
Although there is no information about the time it was built and who built it, it is estimated that it was built in the 15th century based on its architectural style.
The tomb is attributed to Akile Hanım and Belkıs Hanım, the elder sisters of Mahidevran Hatun, who are thought to be palace women. The structure is also known as the "Tomb of Concubines".
It is one of the two structures within the Muradiye Tombs with an open surrounding. The tomb, which is covered with a pyramidal cone, is the only structure in the Muradiye Complex covered in this way.
There are exactly two sarcophagi inside the tomb.
The tomb was subjected to extensive restoration by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality between 2013 and 2014; It is located within the area declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
