Description
pottery
Pottery is one of the oldest handicrafts produced by human beings when they learned to use fire. The first pottery made in Anatolia dates back to the "Neolithic" period, that is, approximately B.C. It dates back to the 7000s. Pottery traditionally produced in Bursa mostly consists of pots, jugs, pots and trays used in food preparations. The dough, prepared by mixing clayey black and yellow soil, is shaped on a wheel turned by a foot. The prepared pottery is kept in a dry and closed place for fifteen days. After being baked, it is glazed or painted with colored paints depending on the area of use and offered for sale.
In Mustafakemalpaşa District, after preparing the body of the darbuka with pottery, the skin is placed on it to make a pottery darbuka. Apart from the darbuka used as a musical instrument, the whistle, which produces a whistling sound in different forms, is traditionally produced by pottery masters.
