Tomb of Prince Mahmut
Tomb, II. It was built in the name of Bayezid's son, Prince Mahmud. The body of Prince Mahmud, who died in 1507 while he was a sanjak governor (governor) in Manisa, was brought to Bursa and this tomb was built on it. Its architect is Yakup Shah bin Sultan Shah.
The interior, which is very rich in tiles, hand-carved works and malakarî (ornamentation in low relief technique made with plaster), is covered with turquoise and dark blue hexagonal tiles up to a height of 2.90 meters. The building sheds light on the decorative art of a period with all its ornamental elements. The original hand-drawn works from the 16th century, which were plastered and covered with Baroque ornaments in the late 19th century, were revived by plaster rasping during the 2013 restoration.
There are four marble tombs in the tomb. The tombs are located on a marble platform on a brick floor. Graves; It belongs to Prince Mahmud and his sons Orhan, Emir and Musa, who died in 1512.
The tomb was subjected to extensive restoration by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality between 2013 and 2014; It is located within the area declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
