Description
Timurtaşpaşa Mosque
It was built in 1390 by Kara Timurtaş Pasha, one of the statesmen of the Yıldırım Bayezid period. The building was first built as a masjid and was converted into a mosque in 1573.
It is one of the mosques with a “⊥” plan (with tabhanes and lodges) and has a five-section narthex.
The minaret of the mosque is located in the north of the mosque, separate from the building. The minaret base rises on six brick pillars connected by pointed arches, and there is a fountain under its feet.
