Description
Pınarbaşı Park
It is one of the oldest recreation areas in Bursa. It is the Nilüfer Hatun foundation. It is the region where the water coming from Uludağ was first distributed into the fortress. The water called "Sheet Water" in Pınarbaşı, with the calligraphy made by the Carthaginian Emperor Hanibal, who took refuge in Bithynia, met the water needs of the city, especially the palace, through the aqueducts. This is the oldest water line in Bursa. The aqueducts still exist and pipes belonging to the water line are found during excavations. According to the descriptions of the travelers and painters who visited Bursa in the 19th century, the area surrounded by historical plane trees with a stream flowing through the middle is also the square where the Conquest Gate is located, where Orhangazi established his camp and entered Bursa on the day of conquest on April 6, 1326. The most important feature of Pınarbaşı Park from history is that it is the place where Bursa's holiday entertainments are held. Evliya Çelebi mentions Pınarbaşı Park in his Bursa Travelogue as follows: "There are 366 recreation and resting places in Bursa. The most prominent one is Pınarbaşı Recreation. This is the evil eye of God. A stream of life flows from the cliffs of Yalçın. When a person drinks Pınarbaşı water, he immediately gets hungry. This place is famous in the Arab and Persian lands as "Pınarbaşı", which gives peace to the heart and gives peace to the heart. It is a source of joy and a place of recreation.”
