Description
Kapan Khan
It was built by Sultan Murad I in the second half of the 14th century. Kapan Han was built to ensure that goods coming from outside the city are checked and weighed before they are put on sale. The structure was named "Trap" because of this function. Kapan Inn was an important inn where increased agricultural products were marketed at the time it was built.
It was determined in the records of 1685 that Kapan Inn had two floors, rooms opening to porticos around a courtyard, and 29 rooms. There was a mosque in the middle of the inn. The tradition of building a mosque in the middle of the inn set an example for other inns to be built after Kapan Inn.
