Description
İnebey Madrasa
It was built at the beginning of the 15th century by Eyne Bey (İnebey), the lieutenant of Murad I and one of the important figures of the Yıldırım Bayezid period. In a foundation deed dated 1404, it is stated that the madrasah was built by Eyne Bey (İnebey) for his lodge in Balıkesir. The high entrance of the madrasa can be entered by climbing a few steps. For this reason, it is also known as "Merdivenli Madrasa".
Structure; It consists of nine rooms, a classroom, a library and a toilet on the upper floor. Each room has a stove, two small niches, a lamp stand and a cupboard. The feature that differentiated the madrasah from many other madrasahs was that it had a library.
In 1969, when the manuscripts and printed books with Arabic letters in the Orhan Mosque were moved here, it started to serve as the "Bursa Manuscripts and Old Printed Works Library".
The madrasa was last restored between 2007-2010.
