Turkish World Ancestral Sports Festival
The festivals, which aim to introduce the values of Turkish culture to future generations and the world, as well as to strengthen the unity of Turkish people, are held every July in Kocayayla, a lush natural wonder located at the foot of Uludağ in the Keles district of Bursa. Within the scope of the festivities, traditional Turkish ancestral sports such as Kökbörü, javelin, aba-kuşak shalwar wrestling and oil wrestling competitions, as well as traditional archery, horse archery and ambling shows are held. In addition, cultural objects, flavors and clothes of relative communities such as Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uyghur, Uzbek, Turkmen, Tatar and Nogay are introduced to visitors at the stands. The event welcomes visitors with the participation of athletes from home and abroad and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
