Sultanate Gate
It is the most important and magnificent of the main gates of Bursa city walls. The gate, which entered the city directly from the east, was the main gate of the Hisar opening to the east and also to the silk and spice route. It was the main gate used by Tekfurs and state administrators to enter and exit the city, as well as during ostentatious ceremonies and official parades.

During the Ottoman period, it was also known as the "Castle Gate" and "Fortress Gate". It was also called "Saltanat Kapısı" because it was located at the beginning of the road leading to the Bey Palace, and "Balıkpazarı Kapısı" and "Mint Gate" because it was near Balıkpazarı and the Mint.

Saltanat Kapı was revived with the reconstruction and restoration work initiated by Osmangazi Municipality in 2005. The original inscription showing that the gate was repaired during the reign of Çelebi Mehmed in 1418 was taken from the Bursa Turkish-Islamic Arts Museum and placed in its place on the gate.
