Bursa Castle
3400 m. long Bursa Walls BC. It was built in 185 by Bithynians. It is known that the first plan of the walls, the construction of which started during the reign of Prusias I (228-185 B.C.), was made by Hannibal, the famous commander of Carthage.

Bursa Castle was damaged during various sieges and was repaired during the Roman (74 BC - 395 AD), Byzantine (395-1326) and Ottoman (1326-1923) periods, and various bastions were added to the castle. There is plenty of spolia on the city walls.

The restoration works, which were started by Osmangazi Municipality in 2005, have been continued by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality since 2009.
