Including cleaning; In addition to being used for cleaning ceilings, clothes, vineyards, gardens and barns, it is also used in different places outside Anatolia, under different names, for its evil-eye repellent properties, for the dowries of bridal girls, for lubricating baklava pastries, and for decorating doors and walls. Brooms, which are usually placed behind doors, are used for sweeping houses, sofas, gardens, streets, stoves, ovens and clothes, as well as for sprinkling oil in making baklava and pastries, and for cleaning cobwebs in inaccessible corners. In traditional culture, in folk medicine practices, broom grass, broom seed and broom are used to cure many diseases and ward off evil. The broom, which takes its place in folk idioms, riddles, proverbs and folk songs in folk literature, is produced by broom masters living in Mustafakemalpaşa, Yenişehir and Orhaneli districts of Bursa. The broom, which is named according to the area in which it is used, such as house broom, bush broom, bridal broom, dowry broom, evil eye broom, oil broom, is a cultural element kept alive in traditional culture and practices.
