Description
İzzeddin Bey (Pınarbaşı) Mosque
It was built by İzzeddin Bey, the brother of Doğan Bey, the famous commander of the Niğbolu Castle, on the foundation land of Nilüfer Hatun, the daughter of Sultan Murad I Hüdâvendigâr. The exact date of construction is not known, but it is dated to the 14th century. Next to the mosque is the first division of Pınarbaşı water, whose source is in Uludağ. That's why it is also known as "Pınarbaşı Mosque".
The mosque has a rectangular plan and is covered with a wooden roof.
Since its original wooden minaret was demolished, the minaret of Murad I Hüdavendigar Mosque was taken as an example in 1960 and was renovated with a helmet and made of bricks.
There is a water tank next to the mosque, where the first division of Pınarbaşı water is located. This place, which was surrounded by a fence in 1885 and closed with a glass window during the Republican Era, was restored by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in 2006.
