Description
Salt Bazaar Mosque
It was built in 1479 by Kara Ali Bey during the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror (1451-1481).
The mosque has a rectangular plan scheme, including the main place of worship and the last congregation area. Its gable-walled façade, which is frequently seen in Bursa masjids, is in the form of a three-arched opening.
Its minaret is similar to the minarets of several mosques in Bursa, with its fluted brick body arranged in the form of pipe moldings, its balcony and helmet cone, but the best example of them is in this mosque.
