Description
İvazpaşa Mosque
It was built by Hacı İvaz Pasha, the architect of the Green Complex. Since the foundation of the mosque was registered in 1427, it is known that the building was built before this date. The building, which was first built as a masjid, turned into a mosque in 1642 when Seyyid Mehmed Efendi had a pulpit built. Ivaz Pasha Mosque, which is known today by the name of the person who built it, is listed as "İmadiye Masjid" in the Foundation record. In addition, the mosque was also called "Kazzazhane Masjid" or "Tavukpazarı Masjid", referring to the bazaar and area around it.
The main worship space of the mosque, which has a transverse rectangular plan, is covered with two domes side by side.
The mosque was repaired in 1557, 1642, 1860, 1967-1968 and the 1990s.
